Hello, and welcome to the Poeh Arts website. This site was created to provide you with information about the Poeh Arts Program and help enable individuals to further their education. The Poeh Center strives to bring to native peoples the opportunity and means to create their individuality and strengthen their Indian identities through artistic expression.

The Poeh Arts Program is in its tenth year of providing traditional Pueblo art education to the adult population of the Eight Northern Pueblos of New Mexico. The art studio courses include jewelry, pottery, and sculpture. Traditional seasonal mediums include moccasin making, willow basketry, hide tanning, embroidery, and many arts important to Pueblo ceremonial practices. These classes are complemented with art entrepreneurial training to prepare students in art and art related careers. Recognized Native American master artists implementing the unique curricula developed to instill an intergenerational methodology provide instruction to students of all walks of life. Student accomplishments are featured in bi-annual exhibitions and sales in the Poeh Gallery, which provide students opportunities to apply their newfound entrepreneurial skills while marketing their art.
